Kiitos is a no cost fundraising platform for local schools and nonprofits (“donation partners”). All sales proceeds* from the Kiitos marketplace are given back to approved donation partners.

Start fundraising for your school or nonprofit by becoming an approved donation partner. We have a simple application process that involves filling out a form with general information and connecting to a new or existing Stripe account to accept payments. The steps to sign up are outlined below.
FOR PARENTS + THE COMMUNITY
Kiitos allows you to clear out your outgrown gear, toys and clothes or find gently-loved items for your growing children in a safe and trusted environment. Sellers choose their preferred donation partner when they post items for sale. Buyers may search listings that give back to their preferred donation partner or simply shop the whole site. Feel good about shopping on Kiitos knowing the money is going to a grateful school or nonprofit.

How does a school or nonprofit apply to fundraise for free on Kiitos?
- Sign up for a general user account for your school/nonprofit using an email address and password. Then, Log In.
- Go to “Payments” (found under Profile > Settings > Payments). Under “SIGN UP TO FUNDRAISE ON KIITOS”, scroll down until you see a box next to “Check to Apply and accept terms and conditions”. Once selected, a short application will appear. Complete and click on “Save Information”.
- Next, return to “Payments” to create a Stripe account by clicking the blue box “Connect with Stripe”. If you already have a Stripe account for your school/nonprofit, then simply log in. If not, create a new Stripe account. Once the application is completed and your Stripe account is connected, you will be approved and added to our list of Donation Partners.
How do I raise money for my child’s school on Kiitos?
First, your child’s school needs to have an account with Kiitos. If they don’t, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with contact information to the PTA/PTO or share shopkiitos.com with your parent-teacher organization.
Sell Items on Kiitos: Simply create an account and “post a listing”. When you post an item for sale, select your child’s school from the “Donation Partners” list in the form. Sellers may only select one donation partner per listing.
Buy Items on Kiitos: Search for your child’s school using the search bar to see all items that give back to your school.
Share listings on social media: Use your shopkiitos.com URL for each item listed for sale on social media, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist and Nextdoor to improve your chances of it getting sold. While you can sell your items on these site for cash, your money is going to help your local community when you buy and sell on Kiitos.
Do you accept all nonprofits?
Initially, we are partnering with nonprofit schools and organizations whose mission is related to helping children thrive.
How and when does the school/nonprofit receive money?
As items sell, funds are directly transferred to the school/nonprofit's Stripe account. Stripe will automatically transfer the money to your connected bank account daily. You can change the timing of the automatic transfer in your Stripe Dashboard.
How much money will I raise?
The sky’s the limit. Kiitos will provide marketing materials (flyers and messaging), however, it will be up to the school/nonprofit to help spread the word to parents and the local community. We recommend hanging flyers in the public areas of school and local stores, emailing, posting to social media, and newsletters.
How long can I fundraise on Kiitos?
As long as you’d like. Our fundraising platform was designed to be available to your nonprofit or school year after year without needing to reapply. And, it will always be free.
What is required of the nonprofit or school?
The only requirement is to create a user account, activate Stripe and complete the application. Once approved, the school is not required to do anything else. That said, advertising Kiitos to your nonprofit or school’s supporting community, will help you raise more money. We will provide basic marketing materials, but feel free to create your own!
What is the time commitment?
The only required commitment is setting up your nonprofit or school’s account which should take no more than 5-10 minutes. The rest is up to you. In order to be the most successful, we need your support marketing Kiitos to your supportive community. We will provide a flyer you can hang up in your nonprofit or school and messaging to share via email, newsletters, social media, etc. We'll also provide occasional themed marketing marketing materials/ideas to boost fundraising efforts, like a Halloween costume drive.
Can I request items that the nonprofit or school needs?
Yes! Kiitos allows users to create “request an item” listings. If you’re looking for specific items, please post a listing.
Can anyone use Kiitos?
Kiitos is open to the public. It is free to sign up, download the app and list items for sale. The bigger we can make the Kiitos marketplace, the more money you may raise.
What can people sell on Kiitos?
While we know it would be convenient for people to list anything they are looking to sell, we appreciate only items that are specific for babies, kids and expecting moms. This will continue to establish Kiitos as the place to go for the best in like-new baby, kid and maternity gear.
How do I list an item to sell?
Select “Post a new listing” button in the upper right corner of the website. It will prompt you to create an account using your email address or Facebook login or sign in. Then select your Category > Sell an item > Complete remaining form (don't forget to select your "donation partner") > select ‘Save Listing’ to publish live. You can always edit your listing or remove it at any time. Fields marked with an * are mandatory and will need to be completed.
How do I price an item?
Charge less for good condition, casual clothing, infant products and older toys. Charge more for new with tags, excellent condition, specialty clothing, with manual/original box, clothing/toy/book bundles.

How do I buy an item?
When you have found item(s) you are interested in purchasing, simply click “Buy” and follow the prompts for purchasing.
If you are picking up locally, message the seller to arrange pickup. If you do not know the seller we highly recommend you meet in a police station parking lot or other safe public place. We only recommend home pickups for buying and selling among friends.
How do I list an item that I am seeking?
Select “Post a new listing” button in the upper right corner of the website. It will prompt you to create an account using your email address or Facebook login or sign in. Then select your Category > Request an item > Complete remaining form > select ‘Save Listing’ to publish live.
How do I search for items?
Search for items by keyword in the search bar at the top of the page or by filtering categories on the left side of the page.
PAYMENTS AND RETURNS
How do I receive payment?
Only schools and nonprofits receive payment. Sales proceeds from every item listed on Kiitos is donated. Schools and nonprofits set up or log into an existing Stripe account to accept payment.
What types of payments are acceptable?
Stripe accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club in the U.S. We also accept gift and prepaid cards that are one of the above types.
Can I pay cash?
Not at this time, as all sales proceeds minus a service fee of 7% + $0.50 is donated to local schools/nonprofits.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Not at this time, as the money spent on listings go to schools and nonprofits. It is too complicated to refund the money. If you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact email@example.com to resolve the issue.
What should I do if someone asks me to complete the transaction off the Kiitos website?
Then understand that they want cash for their item instead of having the sales proceeds donated to a local school or nonprofit. This is acceptable however we do not recommend purchasing from them. We have no way of helping you with fraud or inappropriate activity if you complete the transaction off the Kiitos website.
What if the item I purchased arrives, but is not as described or damaged?
First contact the seller directly via messages to discuss the issue. If you are unable to resolve the issue, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your order number and explanation of the issue.
What are my options for shipping?
At this time, shipping options are limited. You can create a pre-addressed label through USPS or simply go to your local USPS, UPS, or FedEx store to ship your goods to the buyer. We recommend buying items in your local neighborhood.
What shipping supplies will I need?
If you plan to sell regularly on Kiitos, we recommend buying two items:
The shipping scale will allow you to accurately predict the cost of shipping your products as you will know the exact weight. USPS provides a Postage Price Calculator to see various options.
Can I personally deliver my items to a buyer?
Yes, especially if you know the buyer.
If not, set up meetings during daytime hours only, bring a trusted friend or family member with you, and do not provide any personal or financial information. Please do not invite strangers into your home, and do not go into theirs. Consider your local police or fire station as a meeting place.
How long will it take for the items I purchased to arrive?
We encourage sellers to ship products within 7 days of purchase. If you have not received your products in more than 2 weeks, contact the seller first. If no response, contact us at email@example.com with your order number and we are happy to look into it for you.
How do I invite friends?
Is Kiitos available outside the US?
Kiitos is currently available in the US, however we plan to expand globally. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in Kiitos coming to your city.
How do I create an account?
At the top of the page, select ‘Sign up’ and follow the instructions. Once your initial account has been established with your user name/email or with Facebook, you can made modifications to your account at any time. You can also add your location, phone number, About You and more. These options are available under “Settings”.
How do I change my password?
If you have forgotten your password, select ‘Forgot username or password’ hyperlink below the sign in fields. You will need to supply the email address you used when creating your account. It will send an email with instructions for resetting your password.
If you want to update your password, click on the arrow next to your your name/image on the top right of the screen (also to the left of the menu button). Then select Settings > Account and follow the prompts.
How do I change my username?

How do I add my profile picture?
If you want to update your profile picture, click on the arrow next to your your name/image on the top right of the screen (also to the left of the menu button). Then select Settings > Profile Info. Scroll towards the bottom of the page and you see an option to add “Profile picture’.
How do I delete my account?
If you want to delete your account, click on the arrow next to your your name/image on the top right of the screen (also to the left of the menu button) on the website. Then select Settings > Account and follow the prompts under ‘Delete Account’. You cannot delete your account from the mobile app. Note:
If you delete your account, your personal information (name, phone number, address, email, profile picture, etc.) will be deleted permanently and can't be recovered. All the listings you have created will be removed. You won't be able to reactivate your account.
Information where other members are involved (conversations with other people, transactions you've made, reviews you've given to others, etc) is not removed when you delete your account. However, your name will no longer be displayed next to this information.
Are there fees associated with using Kiitos to buy and sell items?
Signing up to fundraise on Kiitos, creating user account and listing products is always free. We charge a 7% + $0.50 service fee on every transaction. This small fee helps to cover our operating expenses and protect your transactions.
Can I get reimbursed for the Kiitos fee if I return the item?
Yes, contact us at email@example.com with your order number and we are happy to reimburse you for the fee.
We designed Kiitos to buy and sell among friends, friends of friends and the community. If you complete a transaction in person with someone you do not know, we recommend you meet in a public place such as a police station parking lot.
What brands are accepted on Kiitos?
All brands are accepted. However, if you spent less than $10 new, we recommend that you donate these items to a local charity near you as their resale value is minimal. You will earn more by selling highly rated, popular and top quality brands.
What brands sell best on Kiitos?
We are analyzing our sales data and will let you know soon. That said, we personally love: Crewcuts, Hanna Andersson, Baby Gap/Gap Kids, Aden + Anais, BabyBjorn, Babybjorn, Ergobaby, B.O.B. Revolution and UppaBaby.
What items are not accepted on Kiitos?
Items that have been recalled. Search here before listing your item.
Items that have missing or broken parts.
Car seats due to federal safety laws.
Overly worn, stained or poor quality items.
Items considered offensive or inappropriate for family-friendly audiences.
Counterfeit or illegally obtained items.
Items that do not fit into the categories of baby, kid, maternity or family gear and products. Kiitos is built by parents for parents.
Can I sell a car seat or crib?
We do not accept car seats due to safety regulations, however you may sell car seat covers and car seat attachments for strollers.
Cribs must adhere to the latest safety requirements found here. They also cannot be damaged or more than 5 years old.
Try to avoid placing items on patterned rugs/carpet or cluttered backgrounds. Use a white sheet or solid wall as a backdrop.
Natural light works best.
Take pictures of products at a couple angles to give a better perspective.
Attention to detail: If you’re selling items with interesting patterns/colors, elaborate stitching and embellishments, include one picture with a close up.
Please don’t sell something you wouldn’t buy. Donate instead.
We want to provide the best for our users. Highly rated, popular and top quality brands are preferred.

Bargain Brands: Circo, Carter’s, Garanimals. Retail <$10, Sell at $1-4. However, we recommend that you donate these items to a local charity near you as their resale value is minimal. We plan to offer donation opportunities in the future.
Basic Brands: H&M, Old Navy, OshKosh, The Children’s Place. Retail $5-15, Sell at $3-6.
Better Brands: Gap, Polo, Gymboree, Hanna Andersson, Nordstrom, Crewcuts. Retail $10-40; Sell at $5-15.
Boutique Brands: Janie & Jack, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales. Retail at $30+; Sell at 25-35% of original price.
Bundle clothing into multiple pieces unless it is a specialty item like a flower girl or holiday dress, maternity special occasion/work clothes. For example: Sell 5 pajamas for $15, 10 outfits for $25, 5 Shirts + 5 leggings + 3 headbands for $30, etc.
Toys, Gear and Everything else:
Sell at 30-40% or retail price.
As with clothing, items sell better in “bundles”. 10 books, 5 infant toys, etc.
Please do not sell any products with missing or broken parts.

ITEM DESCRIPTION TIPS
Be sure to include brand names and relevant tags in the listing form so your products are easily searchable. Example: #babybjorn, #gapkids, #uppababy #doublestroller.
Specify if your product comes with any accessories and if they are included in the price.
If available, include a link to the manufacturer's website for the full product description and specifications.
